The 6D is Canon's entry level full frame. The 5D Mk III a pro level full frame. As an entire package it is just a better camera, IMHO, of course. So I guess you know my answer, get the 5D Mk III and don't look back. You are aware that your EF-S lenses will not fit on a 5D ? Another word about your lens choices. At this level, it's not about sensor and more about performance. 6D is a couple FPS slower than the 5D. 5D has a couple more megapixels. 5D has dual memory slots which for pro photographers, it's a requirement in order to save to both cards in case one goes bad during a shoot. The 6D also costs less. Both cameras will give you great quality. You shoud choose between 6D MK1 + 35 2.0 is usm + 85 1.8 vs 5D MK3 . If you don't shoot action , choose the first setup , 6D2 is a camera that is waaaaaay overrated ( is 5 years newer than 6D1 but it has a worse sensor - worse DR at any iso value and more noise at high iso values ) . I agree with that. Might as well get a used cheap 6D original. Canon 6D Mark II vs. Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Side by side. 2 cameras compared (14bit, Canon original RAW 2nd edition) Digital Print Order Format [DPOF] Version 1.1 A different response to the Canon 5D Mk III autofocus system would be to marvel at the incredible, never-before-possible opportunities to customize and use a state-of-the-art AF system to track, retain focus, and capture shots that could not have previously been captured, through pre-setting the camera to be aware of the rates of speed and Canon EOS 6D review: Focus. The relatively basic autofocus sensor is a much bigger concern. It has 11 points, and only the centre is cross-type for increased sensitivity. That doesn’t compare 1vEtn. Why is Canon EOS 5D Mark III better than Canon EOS 6D? 50 more focus points? 61 vs 11 15.84% more megapixels (main camera)? 23.4MP vs 20.2MP 33.33% faster shooting at highest resolution with AF as JPEG format? 6fps vs 4.5fps 50% faster maximum shutter speed? 1/8000s vs 1/4000s Has dual card slots? 6.67% bigger screen size? 3.2" vs 3" Overall audio features (like the headphone jack) not as great as the 5D mark III, but definitely better than the 5D mark II. That's why we always use the 5D mark III as a main camera, and close ups for lapel mic'd shots. And of course, the primary yet somehow not as practical reason of getting the 6D over the 5D mark II. The body has the same ergonomics and controls as the current 5D series but an older version of the menu system. It's still easy to navigate though. The 5D3 was a decent step up in image quality. The original 6D had better image quality than the 5D3, but the ergonomics, controls, and menu system aren't as good. The 6D would be an upgrade from the 5D, even compared to the 5D MK II. In low light noise the 6D even has an edge over the 5D MK III, but it is really splitting hairs, but the 6D features are less than the 5D MK III and the 6D with only one SD memory card slot and requires using the menu system to change white balance, so not as easy with buttons to quickly access some features. Which are pro and cons of 6D, 5D MkIII and 7D MkII? I'd prefer to not use Magic Lantern and just go with a nice Log-C profile, maybe recording externally in ProRes if needed for bigger projects, but the codec with Andrew's profile looks great until 3200 ISO on 6D. The 20MP Canon EOS 6D is Canon's smallest, lightest and most affordable full-frame DSLR yet, aimed at enthusiast photographers. As well as a newly developed CMOS sensor the 6D features an 11-point autofocus system with a single cross-type point at the center of the array, which can achieve focus down to -3EV, which is little more than moonlight.
